Profile tips
Patient
- Sit in chair
- Look straight ahead
- Hair back from forehead and ears - use a band if necessary
- Arms - by the side (this helps the head stay straight)
- Push top of head up straight - keep chin level (photographer - put palm of hand on the top of the paitent's head - ask patient to push upwards - notice how their spine straightens, their head aligns and their chin becomes level - tell them to hold that position - step back and proceed as below)
Photographer
- Crouch to SAME level as patients head - about 1 metre away
- Look at top of nose - the bridge area
Left profile - swing slightly to the left
- Look for eyebrow or eyelashes above right eye showing just slightly
- Move back to the right and STOP when eyebrow disappears.
